Finca Las Flores is a 0.7 hectare farm that is farmed by Alex Flores and his brothers. Before Alex inherited the farm from his father, his father had given up on farming due to low coffee market prices.
When the farm was abandoned, Alex got a job at a neighbouring farm. He was still determined to make his family farm work so he spent his spare time renewing his father's coffee plantation.
His hard work has paid off as he now grows some outstanding coffees. In the last 4 years he has been producing speciality level coffee with lots of small but steady improvements on his farm. He has also taken on renting a neighbouring plot of land doubling the size of his farm.
This coffee is packed with lots of dark chocolate flavours. Darker purple fruit notes also shine through; blackberries and plums are two that we picked out, and then a nutty finish rounds out this delightful coffee.
